I feel blessed to call Los Angeles my home. Every day I’m mesmerized by its culture, architecture, cityscape, sprawling neighborhoods, and the area’s natural beauty. What I like about this shot is the combination of natural light and artificial light. You see the golden rays of the setting sun strike the buildings on the left.  On the right and lower half of the cityscape, the glow of the city lights predominates. The solid blue sky in the background contrasts beautifully with the vibrant colors of Tinseltown. It’s interesting to note that there is quite a bit of construction in the buildings to the right. This image and the lighting are an excellent metaphor for the city of LA; it’s a diverse mix of the natural and artificial and a constantly changing landscape of elements and personalities.
